NFC Circles

NFC Index is based on the data from the individual members. The strength of the cooperative is that the members actively share information. This is the whole purpose of the NFC Circle, a working group in which the benchmarks are reported, discussed and analysed annually. Common topics are also discussed, thus creating a venue where questions from the circle members can be jointly addressed and worked out. This prevents each organisation from individually having to reinvent the wheel for every topic. On the website circles have access to their own section where members can exchange knowledge and experience, plan meetings and post documents and news, exclusively with other circle members.

NFC Index has the following NFC Circles:

NFC Financial Institutions Circle
The NFC Financial Institutions Circle met for the first time in 2001. Participants in this body include the directors of facility management at ABN AMRO, Achmea, Aegon, the Dutch Tax Authority, Fortis, ING and Rabobank. The objective of this platform was to reach a benchmark for the costs of facilities products and services and exchange insights concerning facilities issues.

NFC Large Municipalities Circle
The municipalities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Haarlem, Arnhem and Almere joined forces in 2004. This year they jointly contributed data to the NFC Index.

NFC Multi-businesses I Circle
In 2005 the first Businesses Circle started, in which organisations like ANWB (Dutch Motorists’ Association), AHOLD, AKN, KPN (telecom company), NS (Dutch Railways) and Luchtverkeersleiding (Air Traffic Control) participate. This alliance illustrates the cooperative model in an optimal form.

FMWEB, a special circle
At the end of 2000, the facilities directors of the thirteen core departments agreed to step up their cooperation. These directors united in the Interdepartmental council of facilities directors (IofD). Together they commission and sponsor the interdepartmental alliance FMWEB. This alliance consists of 2,300 employees at the thirteen facilities services, all of which are involved in their own area of expertise in the field of facility management. This makes the FMWEB the network for facility management in the national government. The FMWEB Project agency was created in 2001 to support this network and the Interdepartmental council of facilities directors.

Circles under construction
A Universities Circle is currently being set up. The board and the (adviser) members fully support these developments as a part of the qualitative and cooperative philosophy of the NFC Index.
If you want to become a member of a circle or would like to set up a circle, contact board member Bas Stam.
