Membership in the NFC Index offers many advantages. Members have access to the NFC Index website, for example, where they can download articles and publications. The NFC Index website also provides an interactive platform focused on knowledge sharing and information gathering. Of course members may also contribute to the NFC Index®; the index and available data are an excellent source of information for benchmarking the costs that your organisation incurs with regard to facilities. This gives you an extremely powerful management solution to help you keep costs under control.

The cooperative has three types of members. These members are co-compilers and co-owners of the NFC Database and NFC Index®. As such the members are partly responsible for their own result. With this in mind, the cooperative distinguishes the following types of members:

1. User members: user members provide their actual figures annually. They have no other interest but to report the truth. Partly because of this, the actual figures are given anonymously per building.
2. Adviser members: adviser members will introduce the actual figures of the clients whom they have advised in this respect. This input will be monitored to ensure that full sets are reported – or it will be established which items are missing. Attention will also be paid to the fact that the actual figures are gathered per data set over the period that coincides with the year to which the index relates.
3. Main contractor members: Main contractor members usually have reasonably complete data sets. This is the reason why they too can join the cooperative. Since main contractors have an interest however, the actual figures introduced by main contractors must also be recognised as such by their clients.

The costs of membership are as follows:
User members and main contractor members pay € 1,950 plus VAT annually.
Adviser members pay € 2,100 plus VAT annually.
